Three days to go!!

Yes, Friday August 10th is my birthday! When I first created this blog, I thought I was going to use it to talk about all those things I seldom want to scream about but I can't do it using my business blog. For some reason..was it late at night? I was feeeling my age...and decided to call it "post40 reflections". Well...in 3 days I will turn 42..and I feel so sad!! No, it's not because age...it's simply because I miss my mom.

My mother died on May 24th, 2001 , of a brain tumor GBM grade 4. She was sick for 20 months...and it was a long long long fight. She was 60 when she died.., ( oficially 61, she was born on November 1939, and she used to say that just for a few days it would have been 1940, so she always played around with her age :)) . In any case...way too young to die. I miss her so much. I guess a birthday is a tribute to mothers, and I wish I could celebrate mine with her. Te quiero mami, y te echo tanto de menos! Espero que estes donde estes seas feliz. Se que nos reecontraremos.

Reflection of the Day

I just booked my flight for SouthAfrica!! Yes!! I'm going on holidays from August 21st to September 5th...will I be able to wait so long??? Couldn't find a return flight when I wanted... Wonder why? Well, here is my first secret: I'm an almost cured aerophobic!

Three years ago, I got really anxious and stressed in a flight from Lanzarote to Barcelona, and since that flight, it started to get worse...until the day that I just couldn't board a flight from Madrid to Barcelona. The funny thing is that I have taken more than 500 flights in my life, and I used to ENJOY flying!! I decided to put an end to my fears, and I went to a psychologist - didn't work, I tried another one - didn't work, I went to a psychiatrist - didn't work, I went to a Bach flower specialist - didn't work.....and finally, guess what? Searching on the net I found SOAR, which is a great program put in place by Captain Tom Burns, and I bought his course, and I can say I am flying again, almost anxious free!!

But, I can't avoid being a bit "picky" on chosing airlines, aircrafts, and routes -- but internet gives us so much information....that making a simple reservation for someone like me cant take hours!! My First Post

Yes - This is my first post here. I do write in other blogs, mainly related to my work - marketing for IT companies - but this is going to be more personal. I need a space to write about what I REALLY think, about technology, about business, about life, about travelling, about human rights, about families, about cancer, about cats... lots of things! So , be patient, you may find funny stories here, some useful information, unpolitical correct comentaries, and many other things.

I have to learn about using all those marvellous tools available for bloggers...I will, sooner or later!!
